Cybersecurity

There are currently more than 3 million unfilled jobs worldwide for cybersecurity professionals with demand trending upward for the foreseeable future. Of all STEM and Information Technology fields, cybersecurity has the highest starting salary and provides points of entry for job seekers that have a high school diploma, industry experience and a recognized industry certification. KP Scholars’ Internship and Apprenticeship programs are designed to increase the supply and quality of cybersecurity talent available to local employers. Our talent development model provides classroom instruction, experiential learning and real-world work experience in one of the following industries:

  • Advanced Manufacturing
  • Banking and Finance
  • Healthcare
  • Information Technology
  • National Security


 

Participants are guided through activities that build the knowledge, skills and abilities defined by the NICE Cybersecurity Workforce Framework in accordance with the KP Professional Maturity Model (KP PMM). Employers augment this focus with additional requirements that are specific to their hiring needs and incorporated into the student’s training regimen. Our cybersecurity talent participates in Red vs. Blue team capture the flag events, receive pre-employment trainig and academic support. Our goal is to ensure our talent is well prepared not only for the technical elements of their careers but also for the social element required to thrive in a professional setting.
